01 CRYSTAL
Crystal was our frist project of the school year. For this assignment we had to find two excerpts in a magazine depicting somesort of glass object, hence "crystal." The pieces we sought out were to be objects where light was bent inside of them, creating different curves and delicious swirls of color. This was a challenging project for myself because it was a project where there was a set subject and a set way to achieve the product. That may read as "easy-peasy" to some but it proved challenging for myself. My imagination pleaded to take hold of my brush and change colors, pleaded to go free hand, but alas I had to calm my mind and take my time. The process of this project was rather meticulous. We had to elimate most of our photos, only utilizing a inch by half inch sections. We used magnifying to look over the sections and take note of the details, then we had to painfully take our time and free hand each curve and different variation of color we saw. My project proved very difficult because of the many different hues and colors.
Overall, I was very satisfied with my results. They channeled some very O'Keefe like energy.
